A number of the guys there were gay. We were playing a trivia game and we got a question about Labyrinth - specifically, the person was asked the question "which celebrity played Jareth the goblin king?" A lot of people, including me, knew it, but the two people who had to answer didn't. Then one guy started shouting at the people who couldn't answer it that their gay cards were being revoked. I asked my friend if that meant I was gay since I knew the answer, and he started cracking up. EDIT-My friend never let me know if that meant I was gay or not so I'm still in the dark on that one. As for bars. I was recently at a bar in NYC that was "switching chefs" (I think they meant they hadn't hired a new chef) and they had a pretty limited menu. But the bartenders said it was OK if we went and got food somewhere else (and we could bring it back and eat at the bar anyway). So me and my friend went down the street and ended up at a Halal place that served African food (really good btw, I wanna go there again even though it was sorta hole-in-the-wall). When we got back to the bar, I felt bad because I normally don't drink and thus would feel like a bad customer, so I ordered one shot of maker's mark bourbon to make up for it. When I went up to pay for it later, the guy brought me another shot because he didn't hear right that I wanted to pay. I don't really know how bars work because I almost never drink, but it turns out I should have opened a tab and given them my card or something when I got the first shot (but the bartender who gave me the first shot never asked me for money or a card so I thought I could pay before leaving). Since I didn't, the guy who gave me the second shot just decided that both shots were on the house. It was great because those things were $10 each.
